Dr. Jess Ingrassellino is a classically trained violinist, electric violinist, composer, and award-winning educator whose career bridges the worlds of music and software engineering. With over two decades of experience teaching and performing, Jess empowers students of all ages to explore their creativity, develop technical excellence, and build confidence through musical expression—whether on acoustic violin, viola, or electric violin with effects.
Jess performs with several orchestras in the Hudson Valley and New York regions, including the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, Northern Dutchess Symphony, and Woodstock Symphony. As an orchestral musician and electric violinist, Jess brings both precision and innovation to the stage. Jess believes in lifelong learning and continues advanced study with mentors like Nathan Cole (Concertmaster, Boston Symphony & LA Philharmonic), Christian Howes (electric violin and improvisation), and Lynn Kuo (soloist and clinician). Jess holds a Doctorate in Music and Music Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College, and a Master’s in Music Education.
Alongside her music and teaching career, Jess is an accomplished engineering leader with a strong track record of building inclusive teams, mentoring staff engineers, and launching high-impact data and software systems across Fortune 500 companies and tech startups. Jess' technical teaching experience includes software development instruction in Python, robotics, and software testing at the college level.
